Friday the 13th
is almost over.
Time to talk about
caskets.
No! No! No!
Not caskets, as in
COFFINS!
Caskets
as in
JEWELRY CASKETS!
These little babies were popular from
about 1904 - 1914.
I LOVE THEM!
Why 13 caskets?
Why because my
"new"
one from Diane
(Molly Mo)
is number 13!
Lucky number 13 with the
precious pink lining!
(and see the small one with blue lining
for you blue lovers??)
Here she is for her close-up!
My delight in these
small bits of history
began with one from my
great grandmother.
That first one is on the right
three quarter profile
with the "bonk"
on the rose.
The one in front has no lid
I use it for antique store cards.
Most of mine are oval.
Except for the cute little square one!
Swirls and bows
and flowers ...
Art Nouveau at it's best!
I keep them in the front room
a sweet little cabinet
with mirrors to reflect
casket glory!
Oh, and here are
their friends ...
Mmmmm!
Casket cousins!! lol!
Hugs and hope you had a wonderful Friday the 13th! I'm off to dream about caskets!! May you dream about what YOU treasure, every night!
