Pink Saturday -- A classic in it's own right!

Thinking of  ROSES?

Classic red?

Not me!

I love roses of any kind ....

but pink ones make me

SWOON!

Doesn't that make you
catch your breath?!

Cool pink ...

or this warm pink ....

They are
SPECTACULAR!

Mmmmm....

these look ready to arrange.

Look how nice they play with others!!

They are never jealous of their red sisters ...

and probably wish we would let them
entertain TOGETHER more often!

They can be
SWEET ...

or EXOTIC!

I think I love ALL pink roses
and feel they are a classic
in their own right!

OKAY - Sammy Girl
Tell us a story!

Well ....

A kazillion years ago
in a Goodwill Store far far away ....

Actually not that far away,
but before the
"new, clean and shiney"
Goodwill stores.

You know -- before they
pull dated the
merchandise??

We found this little thing

Isn't she a beaut?

(was just in a mat ... no frame)

Cabbage roses ...
a little hobby watercolorist?

Traces of the artistic muse ...
(pencil lines ...)

and signed by
M. K. Nelson -- 1912.

We decided it had been
painted by "Aunt Martha"

Ever since that day
 there has been a
special place in our hearts
for watercolors of
roses.

Just like the title says ....

they are

"A Bunch of Beauties"!

Hugs and wishing you a beautiful PINK SATURDAY full of adventures and things you love!
SAMMY GIRL

notes:  other than "Aunt Martha's" pic ... all others are by Paul de Longpre except for two by Christie Repasy.  Her classic "French inspired romantic"  roses can be bought online or in stores.  Her website here.  She currentlly has a SALE going on!!
Be sure to visit other Pink Saturday participants and stop by to say hi to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound and thank her for hosting this meme each week!  Click on logo on sidebar or here.
Finally --   That day so long ago?  Well, Mr. Sammy Girl said a lady followed me for the entire 1/2 hour I was shopping, apparently hoping that I would put it down the watercolor so she could claim.  "Aunt Martha's" picture today? It hangs in our living room and I see it EVERY day!

Pink Saturday -- Yummy Pink Inspiration

One my
favorite

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION
Handy
and FULL of
PINK!

BUT ...

Not everything pink
and cute
works for me.

I am owned by a cat
and he cat would
NEVER
wear this outfit ...

So ....
what DOES
work for me?

How about this pink room?
well, lots of good pink fun,

but not sure I could
LIVE with it

EVERY DAY.

Maybe pink in
small doses
is what I feel like

at least for today!

What about these small bits?
These turn of century
pink sentiment cups?

Yep!

LOVE EM!

and reminds me I have some ...
somewhere here in Whoville.

Oooo ...
 bottlebrush trees!

Do I want
(or need)
some in pink??

Maybe!!

How about a
light in the window?

Pink, of course!
Like this wonderful creation by
Laurie (Magpie Ethel)

Who would've thought
plastic vintage lights
could be so
SPECTACULAR!

How about a few
sweet pink floral touches
like
pink roses?
Perfectly pink for
any season,

especially

Christmas!

Now maybe just a bit more ...

a few
pink ornaments

and

pink depression glass.

Like this?
Yep ...

I could have a holiday brunch
at a table like this!

And speaking of brunch ....
now that's what I call
pink inspiration!

Hugs and have an inspirational Pink Saturday!

Time to get ready for a PINK CHRISTMAS!

I want a Pink Christmas this year.

But it won't happen without a little work.

So ....

I'd better get out of bed!

Get dressed and ready to go.

Shoes ....

sensible?
or KICKY!!

Guess that's NOT even a choice, lol!

Now about a coat ...

Something banded with a little fur trim, perhaps?

or maybe something in a tailored crop jacket?
No ...

I always go with the gittery hot pink
swing coat.

Comfortable
 and
easy to shop in!
And
because a stylish gal

(or one having a
bad hair day!!)

should NEVER
go out without her hat!
Finally

 since this IS
the Northwest ...

Oops!

Almost forgot my camera!

Might need to take a few pics for my friends
at
and post on
Pink Saturday!

They would
LOVE
the pink pointsettias!

Mmmm ....
such YUMMY
pink candles!

Of course,
I might need a few
new pink ornaments, lol!

And who isn't
ALWAYS
looking for

INSPIRATION?
Well,
I'd better head out the door.

See you soon!

Hugs and hope all your Saturdays are PINK-A-LICIOUS!!
SAMMY GIRL

Here's a sample pic for those who didn't look!

And ... guess what!

She is doing a book signing ...

in LONDON!

I guess I should've stayed longer!  lol!

Besides the book
The Comforts of Home

the winner will get all of this!
Some of the goodies --
a vintage postcard
with roses ....
another vintage card
this one is Valentine's Day ...
They are lovely on the front ...
but LOOK at the back!

The birthday card is dated
February 17, 1915
with this inscription:
Dearest friend
Forgot to send this on time so will send it now.
Hope this finds you all well and happy.
With lots of love

Other postcard is mailed to
Junction City, Oregon.

Ledger paper is also included ...
Pacific Visible Systems
Portland, Oregon

A delicate glass
"flower basket"

sweet slotted dish
and
English bone china egg cup

small handpainted pink roses
set in a band of blue
and there are
THREE
of these Meito China bowls!

and a plate with trio of pink roses.
Maybe for your cookies -
er, biscuits I mean -
during tea.
Hmmm ... wasn't there something else PROMISED?!!

Yep.

Bits from London.

See them in the "new"
group shot?

At the top.

First we have
a rusty old skeleton key ....

Bought in England.

But so many of the market vendors are from all over Europe that the key could be from ANYWHERE!

I know .... isn't that your key to the little box you keep in the back of your closet with ....

Well - we'll let that secret stay a secret!

Finally -
A touch of royalty.

A sweet spoon.

With royal connections.

...besides you, I mean!

I wonder if you can click to enlarge and see what it says ....

This spoon.

King Edward VIII
inscription FED. DEF. IND. IMP.

I do not read Latin
(yes - I am a public education doofus...)
but I believe it means
defender of Empire and God
which apparently was the
job description of
Britain's kings and queens.

Who knew?
This is the King who renounced his throne for love
of an American.

And now he's yours ...
